i've learnt so much about words recently. and i noe that God is testing on my words.
i must say that there are indeed a no. of times in the bible where we are told to be careful with Our words. a very gd example will be james 3:9-11
"v9 with the tongue we praise our Lord and Father and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. v10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing, Mr brothers, this should not be. v11 can both fresh and salt water flow from the same spring?"
and sth i learnt from my dance instructor abt words.
As u see, God created the world with words and so words are actually powerful tools that can either be constructive or destructive. It can bUild and encourage ppl and at the same time CRASH THeir morale and confidence.
and there's one more thing-gossip.
ReCently,i've learnt that certain things are best left unsaid.
and certain sensitive issues and topics eg,who like who etc.
are best left undiscussed.
and yes, i admit that i DO fall to peer pressure at times and i noe that this is not correct.as in it is SIN!
gossip as define by the webster dictionary is :rumor or report of an intimate nature .
and the bible have much to say about this..
proverbs 20:19
"A gossip betrays a confidence, so avoid a man who talks too much"
proverbs 26:22
"The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to a man's inmost parts"
proverbs 16:28
"A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends"
now i make my choice. i want to learn to choose to watch my words and avoid sensitive issues with ppl whom are not the appropriate ones to discuss with..i guess sensitive issues like bgr are best shared with ppl like ur parents, trusted frens and leaders.
well, if u don like wad i'm saying, it's okie. there's no need for u to agree with it.
yup, and that's wad i can say. i noe there's nothing much i can do to stop myself from saying
all these gossipy things. but i noe the God whom i trust can help me with all these issue that i'm facing.xDD
from Fight like a Girl by Lisa Bevere
p158 ch11
"when we are no longer motivated by the earthly human need for acceptance, we will not feel driven to repeatedly prove ourseleves right. Christian relational dynamics should be revolutionary in a world steeped in offense ,slander and revenge. We should look different "
i want and hab chosen to be different. How bout u?
